When occupied from the 19th to the 20th century by the Royal House of Savoy, Genoa's Royal Palace underwent some renovations from the original, 17th century building built for the Balbi family. Stuccoed, frescoed and jammed with souvenirs from the family's many trips abroad, the palace is certainly fit for royalty. The rooms are described in English along with several other languages.
